Colt Park City Day Car and Bike Show, September 4th, 2011

CP090411 081Hartford knows how to throw a partym and if Dave and I had $1.00 for every handshake and hug we got during City Day at Colt Park, we could buy one of Johnny Vasquez’s Cobras – the burgundy metallic one that Dave really likes. The Barrio Riders and The Regiment honored men and women in uniform with a bike run around Hartford, followed by a music festival and motorcycle and car show in Colt Park on Sunday.

Cruisin’ Photography’s first task was to find Beatriz “Smurfette” Lopez, from the Low-N-Furious Auto Club. She was smiling as she saw us coming because she knew we had her Smurfette-themed Digital Auto Art. After telling us, “I love it! I’ve been telling everyone about the picture!” Beatriz placed it among the pretty impressive collection of trophies displayed in front of her 1992 Honda Accord. Continue reading

Elusive Ryderz And Dreamz II Reality Bike And Cruise Night, July 13th, 2011

ER071311 135Heavy showers couldn’t deter a hardy band of bikers and car owners from turning out at Bart’s Drive-In for a charity bike night and car cruise on July 13th. The event, hosted by our good friends from the Elusive Ryderz Motorcycle Club and Dreamz II Reality Motorsports, was held in memory of New Haven Police Detective Rafael Segarra.

Segarra, an 18-year member of the New Haven PD, was 44 when he died. He had diabetes, and was in need of a kidney and liver transplant. He was unable to find a donor, caught pneumonia and passed away. He earned four commendations during his career and left a wife and three children. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Segarra’s family. This was the second fundraising event for Detective Segarra; the first was the Hard Hittn’ Lowz cruise and car wash in New Haven on July 2nd. Continue reading

Low-N-Furious 1st Annual Cruise Night, May 28th, 2011

LNF052811 054Cruisin’ Photography was on the road again on Saturday, May 28th. Dave and I took an evening drive to Waterbury, CT, for the first annual Low-N-Furious cruise night at Tony’s Tires and Wheels. We hadn’t been there very long before Albert and Santos from Leather & Sound turned up in their Hondas. After exchanging greetings with the guys, we saw the friendly face of our friend, Juanito, the owner of the superb “Scarface” Toyota. Juanito was on DJ duty for the evening.

A good-sized number of vehicles were already parked and being polished to perfection. The always-memorable Vanformer was there, this time in the hands of the always-memorable Todd Vaillancourt. Vanformer won the Best of Show trophy. Continue reading

High Life Creationz Cruise Night, May 26th, 2011

HLC052611 072The High Life Creationz club staged its first cruise night at Mobile Electronics, in Wallingford, and, needless to say, Dave and I took a trip there to show some support for the HLC crew.

Dreamz II Reality president Jerry Zayas brought his unforgettable Hyundai, while First Lady Maria Zayas arrived in her Volkswagen GTI. Albert Caquias and Santos Negron represented Leather and Sound, and each took home a trophy at the end of the night. I’m sure the Cruisin’ Photography Digital Auto Art Albert had on display in his windshield caught the judges’ eye. It was also good to see Sam Rivera and his beautiful white BMW. Sam and his son and daughter gladly posed for a few photos for Dave and me. Continue reading
