Wednesday, the weather held off and more than 4,000 motorcycles, from Baggers to Busas and everything in between – converged on Main Street, Middletown for a bike night of spectacular proportions.
My first taste of a large-scale bike show had been in mid-January at the Springfield Motorcycle Show. I enjoyed it so much – so many hot bikes and maybe the men in leather had something to do with it – that I couldn’t wait to go to Middletown.
The New London Motorcycle Club was out in force, spreading the word on their six chapters in Connecticut and one in Rhode Island. Vinnie wouldn’t let me leave their booth before I had taken a couple of key chains and literature about the club. He also got some of the members together for a photo – thanks guys! While most visitors left last weekend’s 52nd Annual Frank Maratta Auto & Cycle Show at the CT Expo Center in Hartford with pictures, postcards and autographs, Cruisin’ Photography left the show with sore feet and worn out voices. Kathy and I decided to visit the show on all three days and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent there. We started Friday evening with a walk around the Expo Center to get the lay of the land.
